Please note, DFD Academy / Devika is not organizing this project. We are only hosting the audition/workshop as a collaborator and guest choreographer. The audition is open to all ages. However, please keep in mind, this is a professional-level choreography workshop, not a beginner class.

Joining the Audition

The audition is 100% free to join for anyone who takes an official workshop from one of the partner choreographers or schools. After taking the workshop the instructor will select outstanding dancers from the lesson to introduce to the audition. Once selected you will be asked to recite the choreography you learned in the lesson while the instructor films you. All of the contestants dance footage  will then be reviewed by our panel of professional judges and  we will announce the winners for each participating country by July 15.

Payments

All payments must be made through the official sign up link below. We do not accept cash at any of our workshops.  

Winners

If you are one of the audition winners, DME will contact you using the contact information you filled out on the pay link (full name, phone number, email address). Please make sure all of your contact information is accurate and up to date to avoid delays and possible disqualification. 

Winners will receive:

• Round trip airfare to Tokyo

• Hotel accommodations from August 17-20

• and $1,000 cash prize. 

 

*Make sure you have a passport and it is up to date and not expired.

Once you arrive in Japan, DME will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. You will have 2 days off for sightseeing and rest. On August 19 you will have a special workshop and rehearsal with Swoop, a world renown dancer/choreographer who has worked with artists like Chris Brown, Madonna, Aaliyah and more. Swoop will be choreographing the dance number for the International winners team. On August 20 the International winners team will perform on stage at the Project 47 Music & Dance Festival. On August 21 DME will pick you up from the hotel and bring you back to the airport.

*Please note that this is NOT a dance job. This is a cultural exchange project that was created to give talented dancers an opportunity to travel to Japan and perform with other talented dancers and famous recording artists from around the world. DME's mission is to spread world peace through dance and cultural exchange.
